Thankspimping

I am thankful for bloggers. All bloggers, great and small. All bloggers that expose a piece of themselves to a world that they don’t always know and rarely understand. Most of us are looking for people to share an experience. We are here to preach from our pulpits, uncensored. If you laugh or cry or remember a long-forgotten memory or are moved to take action or are reminded of that which is good in your life, then blogging has been successful for yet another day. And life gets a little easier to bear.

I am thankful for Julia, whom you can all blame for getting me into writing down my thoughts for the world to hear. She is a good friend and a sweet soul.

I am thankful for Scott, who has one hell of a cool wife and an adorable kid and a job and a band and still makes time to write about subjects that are as diverse as he is. He is creatively unbound.

I am thankful for Dan, who writes like you wish you could. I’ve always said that he is the ideal blogger to me; he’s an amazing writer and a true observer of life. He writes for himself and lets you listen in.

I am thankful for Greg, also an excellent writer, who makes me laugh along with him. He is the kind of guy with whom you assume you will be instant friends if you meet, but it’s likely that you aren’t even fit to wax his bikini area.

I am thankful for Cait, who will tell it like it is. Perhaps nobody else that I read lays her feelings out more plainly than the Styrofoam Kitty. She is a rewarding daily read.

I am thankful for Kat, who is smarter and more charming than your sorry ass and makes me feel like a part of her life through her writing. She is artistic in words and action.

I am thankful for Amy, through whose eyes I see a youthful vibrancy and humor that I wish everyone I met could feel. She radiates and is amazing. I want more friends like her.

I am thankful for Dayment; she is so kind and interesting that you want to be more like her the more you read. There cannot be anything wrong with someone who is this gentle in her everyday actions.

I am thankful for the Twins, because they are always interesting and often humorous and they will make you happy to know them.

I am thankful for Snowshoe, because she is so sweet and genuine that you want to adopt her. She should be put on posters as a role model for young women everywhere – a beautiful, smart, hockey-playing scientist.

I am thankful for Bryan Adams. Sure, he’s smarter and funnier than you, but you’ll like him anyway. Any jokes you're thinking about making about his name aren’t funny, so don’t go to his site and try to be clever, assmunch.

I am thankful for Lotus, who writes about an interesting life and also has the good decency to comment on a lot of other people’s blogs. A lot of you ingrates could learn a few things from her.

I am thankful for Shampoo Solo, for coming to her senses and getting back into the game. I left her linked for the whole time she was gone, because I knew something that fabulous would return again someday. Go read her now.

I am thankful for IA, because he too says whatever he wants and usually ends up making me laugh. Sure, he’s a filthy lawyer, but don’t hold it against him. There are so many other things to hold against him. Like your breasts, for instance.

I am thankful for Gimmy, whose absolutely gorgeous photography and amazing writing are inspirational. Go look through her site, it’ll make your day better.

I am thankful for Jen, who is a genuinely caring person that would make an excellent best friend. She is bringing something special into the world in more ways than one.

I am thankful for Jules, whose storytelling is a gift that she nurtures with care and passes along to the rest of us. You'll picture yourself wanting to have a long conversation with her over a bottle of wine. Or three.

I am thankful for Sarah, as many of you are, because she knows humor and joy and pain and sadness and beauty and she knows the words to explain them all to you. She is eloquent and sublime.

I am thankful for Leo, because he and I are probably torn from the same cloth. Though he may deny it, he is not only funny, but also clever and smart and, I’d wager, a pretty nice guy.

I am thankful for Aubrey, who puts her emotions out for everyone to see and publicly asks the life questions that you are probably wondering about yourself.

I’m thankful for Kerry, for living a life that is noteworthy enough to write about in a consistently interesting and enriching manner. She is wise beyond her years and cooler than you in every way.

I am thankful for JR, because his daily snippets are little packages of humor in your pathetic lives. I bet you’d like him if you met him, but unfortunately his schedule is pretty full, so piss off.

And finally, I’m thankful to all of you who read this site. If I didn’t include you in the list above, it doesn’t mean I love you any less. I’m not sure what percentage of a writer needs to be read, but it's at least 50%. It means a lot.

If you have any sites for which you are thankful and they aren’t listed to the right, please email them to me so I can look them over. I am always looking to add a few more good reads.

I appreciate your comments and your emails and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving.

Now go back and actually look at the sites that I’ve linked.

You’ll be glad you did.

Thanks.

I am thankful for you and your storytelling, and the fact that I have a PC at work now so I can actually read your page (it displays really wonky on my mac at home so my wittandwisdon supply was cut off for quite sometime.)

I am also thankful that you read my blog and you like it enough to be thankful for me. :)

I hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving and you eat until you bust a gut.

Don't be so coy. You know you're completely qualified to wax my bikini area, stud.

What a lovely post.

cw,

i am thankful for men like you in the world who are sweet and thoughtful, ingenious and clever, charming, witty and wise and a superfantastic friend.
having the timing and the insight to interject the right amount of humor at the right moment is truly an art and you, sir, are without a doubt an artist.

i am thankful for stumbling across blogging in general and for the connections i have made with others through this experience.

happy thanksgiving. :-)

awwww...you just made me real glad i came back, and you more than made up for the mean 'i hate you' e-mail i'd just gotten before i came here.

Maybe it's not fair that I come here with the expectation of perfection, but more often than not, I get it. I am thankful as all get out that you do what you do.

that is literally the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me. or even near me.
thank you.

that was swell.

blowjobs on the house!

CW, I am thankful for you and your incredible cleverness inside and out. The Twins and I humbly thank you for your wonderful kind shout out, we feel just like Sally Field right now. XXXOOO.

i love you, man. you make the baby jesus cry, but only because he loves you too. i am totally coming over with a bucket of fried chicken later, and a six pack of those little SKYY vodka things, because I know you can't hold your booze. :) xoxoxox.

We're all thankful for you, too, Chief.

Hope Thanksgiving with the 'rents went okay. I'm sure you'll let us know otherwise.

I am thankful that I was mentioned there and you didn't say anything that would make me kick your arse.

Hey, that was nice! Thanks :o)

I am thankful I didn't see this until now, since I've been in a holiday-inspired emotional cacophony since Friday, and it would have reduced me to a sappy mass of happy-tears. Now, I'm just a semi-sappy mess, but happy-teared all-the-more.

I'm also thankful for CW who provides me with daily blog-o-rific procrastination from my un-blog-o-rific job of ad writing. (Except when I get to write porn. Then it's a toss-up which comes first...)

Thanks from the bottom of my heart, which we all know resides on my sleeve.

how about an update on your day? coz when i'm down you can really cheer me up. laughter is therapy..isn't that what they say..? theraputic bloggin' and theraputic readin'...guuud for the soul.

Thanks. That was really nice. So nice that I can't think of anything witty to say in reply. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!?!

just to clarify, when do i have to put out in order to thank you for the pimping? can it be after i have given birth? :-)

hehe..well i meant it.

infact i was down today..i'm afraid to say that i know one of those people who think that they are right and the whole world is wrong..small minded people who call others small minded..it pisses me off more than anything and i have no idea why i'm telling u all this.
anyway that poem up there got me smiling once again. i may very well be your biggest fan..but i'm all the way in scotland..so there will be no stalking.

just realised the comment after mine was not infact directed to me. sorry for the confusion. (very embarrasing).

And I'm thankful that you count my site as one of your frequent reads. That alone is one of the best compliments I've ever received.
