So what do you want, more free time and less money, or more money and less free time? What is the most important thing for you? Reading? Writing? Family? Vodka? Oral sex?
Where would your lines be drawn, if you had your way?

I'm just scared of death, so I keep going.

I like having the $$, but I think I'd trade some of that in for more free time. And as far as priorities, I dunno. Oral sex is pretty high on the list.

I would rather have more free time. I used to think I wanted more money, but I've realized slowly over the last year, that I don't care for all that crap anymore.
Right now the most important thing to me is family, because I won't be seeing them for a long while after another month. So I'm trying to get all my time in there. Though, oral sex is a very close second.
I don't draw lines, only circles.

More free time, with just enough money to be comfy, pay the bills, not be destitute. But I bet I could pare down my living expenses if I had to. Time to read and write and spend time with friends and family.

I heard or read a news story about this; in the 50s, the European and American work weeks were about the same, and the pay was comparable. Since then, Europeans have opted for more free time, and Americans have opted for more money.
So far in my life, I've picked option 3, grad school: no money, no free time (well, maybe just enough free time to keep up with a couple blogs).

definitely more time, less money.....not even a question....how else am i going to have time to play??
Posted by: ml | Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 11:32 AM
I am dealing with this question right now. I have a job that allows me lots of free time and autonomy but very little money. I have a potential job offer that would allow very little free time and minimal autonomy but a lot more money. Total quandry because I'm a little tired of being so damn financially poor but I've never worked in the corproate world ever in my life. I dunno....

Totally more free time. I love money, but what I love more than anything is screwing around. If you do that, they won't give you all the money anyway.

I love you new home!! So much easier on the eyes. And to tell you the truth, those photos on the sides always kind of creeped me out.
And I'd definitely want more free time, less money. But hey, more free time and more money would be way better! ;)
And the most important things to me are John and family, although after almost six years I guess can call John family too. 8)

You can't have it all? I guess I would say more free time because with free time, I could work on my more meaningful projects, which in turn could be sold, thereby bringing in enough money for going out to dinner, which leads to oral sex.

Hmmm Yeah! I love having a free tushy to drag into places... Sadly, the free tushy isn't welcome while being a broke tushy.
I guess I'm unlike the majority. I choose more money over more time, money will buy me the time eventually.

Wait a minute... I do have to reevaluate my priorities... Where did I leave family? And worse, what about oral sex?!
Posted by: Solita | Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 02:54 PM
I have more time (and oral) sex and less money and frankly I wouldn't change anything for the world!

I like the mess-up with my parenthesis. It somehow changes the meaning a bit, but I like it
:o)

As a grad student I am used to having no time or money and am getting by with that. I'd choose time over money though, and sex above all. :-p

I wish the money I did have was working at a job that I loved. Then the free time bit would be a non-issue.
Oral sex is nice, but if that was most important, I'd just become a lesbian.

I vote enough time and money for beer and maybe some oral sex thrown in for when the beer runs out.

I'd need money, because then I could buy free time. I'm dirt poor at the moment, and I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off just trying to keep up with a full time job, fulltime grad school, raising an abused kid, dealing with a fiscally irresponsible fiance and a manipulative mother. Give me money and I'd: quit my job, go to school parttime (i.e., not for the loan money), pay for all the medical care the kid needs, buy my mother a year-long cruise around the world, and not care about my fiance's fiscal irresponsiblity. Yups, life would be much easier.

I would like to have enough money to do whatever I want without having to worry about expenses. Throw in all the free time I want and I'd be set for life...
The oral sex I could live without

It's pretty much all about the vodka and oral sex. Is that a bad thing?
Posted by: jules | Thursday, October 23, 2003 at 01:11 AM
Less money, Fewer clients. Oh wait, that's Jerry Maguire. Ummm.
Posted by: belle | Thursday, October 23, 2003 at 03:43 AM
As a (relatively) new parent, I'd say free time is overrated. I guess I have to say that to make myself feel better. The same goes for money. I also keep telling myself that it gets easier. That's where the vodka comes in, right?
Posted by: Scott-san | Thursday, October 23, 2003 at 08:03 AM
Well, what little money I have is spent on vodka, which occasionally leads to oral sex.
Y'know, it could be worse.

Vodka? When did Vodka join the topic?!
Wow! It all makes sense now!

Give me lots of friends, an occasional drink and a few kind words. Love from my family and enough $ to get by on.
That's all i need.
